Das EU-Parlament hat am Mittwoch (24. April) in einer Plenarsitzung eine abgeschwächte Version der lang erwarteten EU-Richtlinie über Plattformarbeit mit großer Mehrheit verabschiedet. 554 Abgeordnete stimmten dafür, 56 dagegen. Damit wurden zwei Jahre intensiver Verhandlungen beendet.

Die Europäische Kommission hat am Mittwoch (24. April) bekannt gegeben, dass sie eine Untersuchung über die Diskriminierung europäischer Unternehmen durch China bei der öffentlichen Beschaffung von Medizinprodukten eingeleitet hat.

Am Mittwoch gab das Parlament endgültig grünes Licht für neue Vorschriften, die Unternehmen dazu verpflichten, gegen negative Folgen ihrer Tätigkeit für Menschenrechte und Umwelt vorzugehen.

Bericht des Potsdam-Instituts für Klimafolgenforschung: Angesichts des globalen Wettbewerbs mit Staaten, die über billige erneuerbare Energien verfügen, sollte die EU eine teilweise Deindustrialisierung in Kauf nehmen, anstatt nicht wettbewerbsfähige Industrien zu subventionieren.

Die nationale Rübenindustrie fordert die französische Regierung auf, grünes Licht für den Einsatz von Acetamiprid zu geben. Dabei handelt es sich um ein neonicotinoides Insektizid, das in der EU zugelassen, aber in Frankreich verboten ist.
