How do e-government tools that enable direct online communication with the executive affect citizens’ support for autocracy? On the one hand, such centralised digital government tools may sway public opinion in favour of strongman rule at the expense of autocratic institutions; on the other hand, such participation and responsiveness may unintentionally unveil a wide range of issues in the country, undermining trust in the regime. We examine an electronic platform in Turkey, CIMER, that allows citizens to submit petitions and complaints, send messages to the president, and propose policies and programmes. We conducted a well-powered online survey experiment with a nationally representative sample (N≈4,600) that estimates the effects of different types of regime propaganda around this e-portal on attitudinal and quasi-behavioural outcomes. The results suggest that propaganda through CIMER improves diffuse support for the regime and generates behavioural compliance, even among opposition voters. However, these positive effects accrue to regime institutions rather than to Erdoğan personally as the executive’s personalistic leader. On certain dimensions, the propaganda backfires among the regime’s core support groups, eroding their perceptions of Erdoğan’s popularity as a leader. These results have major implications for the expected downstream effects of these types of digital tools on regime stability and legitimacy, and they add to the growing warnings about holding overly optimistic views concerning the effects of digitalisation on democracy.

La Haute autorité de l'audiovisuel et de la communication (HAAC) a rendu hommage à Adam Boni TESSI, ex président de l'institution de régulation des médias au Bénin. Aux côtés du président Edouard LOKO, les présidents d'institutions de la République et la ministre du numérique et de la digitalisation ont salué la mémoire du regretté lors d'une cérémonie ce lundi 08 décembre.

C'est par une cérémonie sobre et empreinte de solennité que des présidents des institutions de la République, la ministre du numérique et de la digitalisation, et plusieurs autres personnalités ont rendu hommage à Adam Boni TESSI, ancien président de la HAAC.
Intervenant à cette occasion, le président Edouard LOKO a rappelé ses liens d'amitié avec l'illustre disparu. « J'ai eu le bonheur de travailler avec lui parce qu'il m'avait choisi comme l'interface avec le Chef de l'Etat. Il était un homme affable, un bon vivant. Il savait aussi avoir une main de fer dans un gang de velours », a-t-il laissé entendre.
Le défunt témoigne Edouard Loko, a été « un homme heureux » ; « une chance » pour sa famille et ses proches.
On pouvait noter à cette cérémonie, la présence des présidents Louis VLAVONOU de l'Assemblée nationale, Dorothé SOSSA de la Cour Constitutionnelle, Sacca LAFIA de la CENA, Dandi GNAMOU de la Haute Cour de Justice et Aurélie ADAM SOULE ZOUMAROU, ministre du numérique et de la digitalisation et d'autres personnalités dont entre autres, Prosper MORETI, ex président de la HAAC, et du maire de Nikki, Roland GOUNOU.
Adam Boni TESSI est décédé le 14 novembre 2025.

Les populations de la commune de Banikoara, dans le département de l'Alibori se sont massivement mobilisées ce lundi 08 décembre 2025, pour dire « NON » aux coups d'Etat au Bénin.

Après Cotonou, Banikoara dans l'Alibori a sonné la grande mobilisation pour exprimer son opposition aux initiatives anticonstitutionnelles de prise de pouvoir par les armes. A travers une caravane qui a parcouru les rues de la localité, les jeunes, les femmes, enfants et adultes ont désapprouvé le coup de force perpétré par un groupe de mutins dimanche 07 décembre 2025 dans le pays.
Sur les panneaux, sont inscrits les messages en soutien au chef de l'Etat Patrice Talon.
« Banikoara est pour le développement », « Banikoara dit NON à un coup d'Etat au Bénin », « NON à la prise de pouvoir par la force », « Plus jamais de coup d'Etat au Bénin », « Banikoara félicite SEM Patrice Talon, chef suprême des armées », « Vive Patrice Talon », etc.
