A kecskeméti repülődandár központi zónájában L-39NG kiképző repülőgépek állnak, körülöttük magyar repülőműszakiak és cseh gyári szakemberek dolgoznak. Feladatuk előkészíteni és útjára bocsátani a Magyar Honvédség legújabb típusát, a Skyfox elnevezésű, de a mindennapokban csak NG-nek nevezett gépet. A közelmúltban az L-39NG-t üzemeltető és javító század létrehozásának történetével, a repülőműszakiak képzésével és mindennapi munkájukkal ismerkedtem a repülődandárnál.

Az L-39ZO Albatros 2009-es kivonását követően a Magyar Honvédségnél megszűnt a típus üzemeltetésének és javításának képessége, így amikor az L-39NG rendszeresítése napirendre került, a nulláról kiindulva kellett felállítani az arra alkalmas alegységet. A század létrejött, igaz elnevezése egy kissé hosszúra sikeredett: Magyar Honvédség vitéz Szentgyörgyi Dezső 101. Repülődandár, Logisztikai Alegység, Repülőműszaki Zászlóalj, Repülőeszköz Üzemeltető és Javító Század. Parancsnoka, Boldizsár Zoltán őrnagy lett.
