L'aéroport international Cardinal Bernardin Gantin a reçu son certificat de conformité aux normes et exigences de l'organisation de l'Aviation Civile Internationale (AOCI). C'est à travers une cérémonie organisée, jeudi 20 mai 2021, en présence du ministre béninois des infrastructures et des transports, du Commissaire de l'UEMOA en charge des Transports et des Infrastructures, du directeur régional adjoint de l'OACI, du DG SAB, du DG Agence Nationale de l'Aviation Civile (ANAC) et plusieurs autres acteurs de l'aviation civile du Bénin.

L'aéroport international Cardinal Bernardin Gantin de Cotonou est désormais homologué pour accueillir des vols des grandes compagnies internationales. L'organisation de l'Aviation Civile Internationale (AOCI) a certifié les installations aux normes et exigencs internationale. C'est à travers une cérémonie présidée par le ministre des infrastructures et des transports ce jeudi 20 mai 2021 en présence de plusieurs autres acteurs de l'aviation civile. Cette certification a été possible grâce aux investissements réalisés par le gouvernement du président Patrice Talon depuis 2016.
La processus de certification a démarré depuis 2018.« Un aéroport certifié est un aéroport attractif », a indiqué Hervé Hêhomey, ministre des infrastructures et des transports.
Le Bénin devient ainsi le septième pays d'Afrique à avoir cette certification.

Summary

• In Donetsk region, the SMM recorded 118 ceasefire violations, including 92 explosions. In the previous reporting period, it recorded 196 ceasefire violations in the region.
• In Luhansk region, the Mission recorded one ceasefire violation; an undetermined explosion. In the previous reporting period, it recorded 37 ceasefire violations in the region.
• The Mission continued monitoring the disengagement areas near Stanytsia Luhanska, Zolote and Petrivske.
• The Mission observed weapons in violation of withdrawal lines on both sides of the contact line in Donetsk region, and in a government-controlled area of Luhansk region.
• The Mission facilitated and monitored adherence to localized ceasefires to enable the maintenance and operation of critical civilian infrastructure.
• The SMM continued following up on the situation of civilians, including at four entry-exit checkpoints and three corresponding checkpoints of the armed formations in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
• The SMM followed up on reports of an incident at a church in Zabolottia, in Rivne region.
• The Mission’s freedom of movement continued to be restricted, including at checkpoints of the armed formations near Bezimenne and Zaichenko, southern Donetsk region. Its UAVs again experienced instances of GPS signal interference.*
