President Michel received the letters of credentials from four new ambassadors to the European Union.

Council presidency and European Parliament negotiators have reached provisional agreement on the main political elements of a regulation on the transparency and targeting of political advertising.

President Charles Michel spoke at the annual conference, which brings together EU ambassadors from the 145 EU delegations and offices of the EU around the world, the heads of EU military and civilian missions and the heads of the European Commission representations in all 27 EU member states.

On 26 October, the European Council adopted conclusions on multiannual financial framework 2021-2027.

At the press conference following the first day of the October European Council, President Charles Michel highlighted the EU leaders' condemnation of Hamas’ brutal terrorist attack and their gravest concern for the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza. They also discussed the mid-term revision of the EU’s long-term budget.
