Les intempéries ont fait deux victimes en France, dix en Allemagne et deux en Roumanie. En Belgique, un homme qui « souhaitait protéger ses ruches » a finalement été retrouvé sans vie. C'est un lourd bilan pour des inondations causées par des intempéries. En France, 20 000 personnes ont été évacuées.

Le Fonds monétaire international (FMI) et le gouvernement centrafricain se sont accordés fin mai sur un prêt d'environ 68 milliards de F CFA sur trois ans. Selon les deux parties, ces ressources seront affectées notamment à des réformes administratives, à la santé et à la sécurité. Le Fonds avait maintenu son appui durant la crise, à travers notamment son programme d'aide d'urgence.

CoderDojo is among the 50 winners of the European Citizen's Prize 2016 of the European Parliament. Since 2008, the prize has been awarded to citizens or organisations that contributed to promoting better mutual understanding and closer integration between citizens or to facilitating cross-border or transnational cooperation within the EU. The winners will receive a medal of honour at an award ceremony in their country and will be invited to a joint event in Brussels in October.

A YouTube audio recording released on Thursday claims that Macedonia’s former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski has been seeking advice from an astrologist.

Samedi 28 mai, la presse a rapporté la mort du gorille Harambe, un mâle de 17 ans pensionnaire du zoo de Cincinnati, abattu après qu'un garçonnet de 4 ans a chuté dans l'enclos. L'annonce s'est accompagnée de la vidéo sidérante, tournée par un visiteur, sur laquelle on voit le gorille attraper l'enfant avant de l'entraîner dans l'eau. Par sécurité pour la vie de l'enfant, l'animal a été abattu par le service de sécurité du zoo.
