Der Sonderausschuss zu Steuervorbescheiden veranstaltet am Montag (14.3.) und Dienstag (15.3.) Sitzungen, an denen Vertreter von Steuerbehörden und multinationalen Konzernen teilnehmen. Unter den bestätigten Teilnehmern sind Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco und die Kanalinseln sowie Apple, Google, IKEA und McDonald's. Die EU-Abgeordneten haben die Möglichkeit, sie insbesondere zu den jüngsten Entwicklungen im Bereich der Unternehmensbesteuerung zu befragen.

The EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, has requested Minister of Foreign Affairs Bert Koenders to conduct a political dialogue with Mali, Senegal and Ghana on migration. The minister will visit the three countries from 14 to 17 April. The Netherlands currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Stocktaking debates on progress in EU trade talks with two major partners – Canada and the USA – were discussed in the International Trade Committee on Monday afternoon. The recently updated investment rules in the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) deal with Canada and latest developments on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), with the US, including the follow-up to Parliament’s requests, were the key topics of debate.

During yesterday's meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs Council the outcome of the European Council on EU Turkey cooperation was welcomed. It helps both to curb the migration influx and to prevent people from putting their lives in the hands of ruthless smugglers.

The European Ministers of Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) will meet in Brussels on 10 and 11 March for the fourth JHA Council of the Netherlands Presidency. An important item on the agenda is the proposed establishment of a European border and coast guard agency, which would help enhance the management of Europe’s external borders.
