A tájékoztatás szerint először mindenkin elvégzik a koronavírus-tesztet. Akinek pozitív az eredménye, azt egy időre elkülönítik, a többiek a 26 kijelölt hely valamelyikébe kerülnek.

Az állam által finanszírozott France terre d’asile nevű szervezet számításai szerint a kiürítés előtti nap csaknem 2400 ember élt a táborban, amely egyre nagyobb területet foglalt el az A1-es autópálya mentén, a legnagyobb francia stadion tövében.

“Az ilyen táborhelyek elfogadhatatlanok” – mondta Didier Lallement párizsi prefektus a kiürítés előtt a sajtónak. “A felszámolást úgy bonyolítjuk le, hogy a legálisan az országban tartózkodók biztonságos szálláshelyre kerüljenek, az illegális helyzetben lévők viszont nem maradhatnak” – tette hozzá.

Gérald Darmanin belügyminiszter a Twitteren üdvözölte a rendőrségi fellépést. A bevándorlókat segítő mintegy harminc civil szervezet közös közleményben ítélte el a migránstáborok felszámolását.

“Öt éve ismétlődnek a felszámolások, amelyeket a szállásrendszer működési elégtelenségei kísérnek. A hatóságok jelenleg is folytatják ezeket az akciókat, miközben az előző 65 táborkiürítés bebizonyította, hogy nem hatékonyak, és egyetlen céljuk, az emberek szétoszlatása” – írták.

A 2015-ös menekültválság kezdete óta rendszeresen rendel el táborkiürítéseket a prefektúra Párizsban. A legjelentősebb 2016 novemberében volt, akkor egyszerre négyezer embert vittek el. Azóta a rendőrök a migránsok minden kísérletét megakadályozzák a városban arra, hogy letelepedjenek a parkokban és táborhelyeket alakítsanak ki, így egy ideig gyakorlatilag láthatatlanná váltak a párizsiak számára. Másfél év ezelőtt azonban ismét több ezer migráns jelent meg Párizs környékén, akik a városhatárban telepedtek le, ahol a rendőrség egy ideig megtűrte az újabb táborokat, majd felszámolta őket. Azóta a várostól még távolabb, Saint-Denis északi elővárosban telepedtek le a bevándorlók.

Bulgaria has blocked the opening of North Macedonia accession talks due to a bilateral dispute on historical issues, German EU affairs minister Michael Roth confirmed Tuesday. "They [Skopje] have already done a lot and they have their claims. They want to be part of this European community. It is a long, difficult path," Roth said, referring to the fact North Macedonia earlier changed its country's name to satisfy Greek demands.

About 66 percent of people, on average, in Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden have a "favourable" opinion of the EU, according to US pollster the Pew Research Center. Italians (58 percent) were the least optimistic and Germans the most (73 percent). EU approval also hit record highs in the UK (60 percent). Over 50 percent, on average, also approved the current French and German leaders.

"Without the nuclear and conventional capabilities of the US, Germany and Europe cannot protect themselves.
