The Council agreed its negotiating mandate on the proposed regulation establishing the Act in Support of Ammunition Production, which aims to reinforce the competitiveness and resilience of the European Defence Technological and Industrial Base in the field of ground-to-ground and artillery ammunition, as well as missiles.

The Council imposed restrictive measures on an additional 71 individuals and 33 entities in respect of the continued Russian war of aggression against Ukraine.

Press conference on the expected Council Decision to sign the EU-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement will take place on Tuesday 27 June 2023 at 11.00.

Today the Council reached an agreement (general approach) on a proposal for a nature restoration law. The proposal aims to put in place recovery measures that will cover at least 20 % of the EU’s land and 20 % sea areas by 2030, and all ecosystems in need of restoration by 2050. It sets specific legally binding targets and obligations for nature restoration in each of the listed ecosystems - from agricultural land and forest to marine, freshwater and urban ecosystems.
