The EU is working to stop terrorists from using the internet to radicalise, recruit and incite to violence.

On 6 December, the Council decided to appoint Andrea Enria as head of the ECB supervisory board.

The European Border and Coast Guard (Frontex) will be given a stronger mandate to support member states' activities in these areas.

The Council today agreed its position on the establishment of a European Labour Authority (ELA). The aim of this new body is to support Member States in implementing EU legislation in the areas of cross-border labour mobility and social security coordination, including free movement of workers, posting of workers and highly mobile services.

Die Schaffung eines regierungsnahen Medien-Konglomerats in Ungarn durch die Orban-Regierung führt zu massiven Protesten.

Diese Woche äußern sich die Vertreter der Städte und Regionen zu den Haushaltsplänen der EU ab 2021. Nach dem Willen der Kommission sollen die Strukturfonds deutlich gekürzt werden.

Drei Wochen vor der EU-Ratspräsidentschaft Rumäniens ist nicht klar, ob die Regierungskoalition im Bukarester Parlament noch eine Mehrheit hat.

Die Europäische Kommission hat am Mittwoch eine Strategie zur Stärkung des Euro auf internationaler Ebene vorgelegt.

Die französische Regierung hat es nicht geschafft, ihre Vorschläge für eine Finanztransaktions- sowie eine Digitalsteuer auf EU-Ebene durchzubringen.
