On Monday, 11 December 2023, Members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Committee on Development and Sub-committee on Human Rights will meet 2023 Sakharov Prize laureates: Jina Mahsa Amini and the Woman, life, freedom Movement, represented by Afsoon Najafi and Mersedeh Shahinkar. By awarding the 2023 Sakharov Prize to Jina Mahsa Amini and the Woman, Life, Freedom Movement in Iran, the Parliament recognises their brave efforts to stand up for fundamental rights and women's rights.
Through this debate, Members will have the opportunity to express their strong support for the aspiration of the Iranian people to live in a free, stable, inclusive and democratic country.
