Council agrees on a mandate to agree with the European Parliament on emergency measures for the agricultural sector.

Following the 11th EU-Egypt Association Council, the EU and Egypt issued a joint press statement reaffirming the 2024 Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership and stressing the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation on security, economy, migration and regional stability.

Member states’ representatives approved the Council’s negotiating position on the proposal to establish a framework to facilitate military transport across the European Union, better known as the regulation on Military Mobility.

The President of the European Council, António Costa, together with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will represent the EU at the second EU-Moldova Summit taking place in Brussels on 22 June 2026. President Maia Sandu will represent the Republic of Moldova.

On Wednesday, Parliament reviewed the EU accession progress of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Montenegro.
