Az új koronavírus-járvány okozta egészségügyi és gazdasági válsághoz a leggyorsabban a szervezett bűnözés alkalmazkodott területi terjeszkedésének és pénzügyi erejének növelésével – derült ki a maffiaellenes olasz nyomozó igazgatóság (Dia) jelentéséből.

A maffiaellenes hatóságnak a parlament számára készített jelentése szerint egyedül a bűnszervezetek munkája nem torpant meg a betegség miatt lezárt országban.

A nápolyi camorra, a calabriai ‘ndrangheta és a szicíliai Cosa Nostra a koronavírus-járvány teremtette veszélyben “gyorsan átszervezte tevékenységét, és a helyzetet saját előnyére használta fel” – olvasható a Dia értékelésében. A dokumentum készítői kiemelték, hogy a szervezett bűnözés mindenkori céljait tartotta szem előtt, vagyis területi jelenlétének erősítését és pénzügyi erejének növelését.

“A maffia tulajdonságának számít, hogy bármilyen vészhelyzethez képes alkalmazkodni, és a jelenlegi gazdasági válság hatalmas lehetőséget kínál az illegális üzleti tevékenység bővítésére. A pandémia aranyat ér a maffiának” – nyilatkozott Federico Cafiero De Raho maffiaellenes államügyész.

Az olasz csizma sarkában található Puglia régióban a szervezett bűnözés a járvány miatt megnövekedett egészségügyi hulladék hasznosítását igyekezett megszerezni. “Nagy falatnak” számítanak a maffia számára a környezeti beruházások is, melyekre a római kormány a több mint 200 milliárd euró gazdasági helyreállítási csomag több mint harminc százalékát készül fordítani. Miközben a gazdaság üteme a GDP mintegy tíz százalékával lassult, tavaly az év első felében a “gyanús” pénzügyi mozgások mértéke harminc százalékkal növekedett – hangoztatta Maurizio Vallone, a Dia igazgatója. Hangsúlyozta, hogy a bűnszervezetek “mimetizálódnak”, “tiszta arcú” vállalkozókon keresztül teszik rá a kezüket a nagy- és közepes vállalatokra, és minél több idő telik el, annál nehezebb lesz a pénz útját követni.
