European Council

The Council today introduced a SWIFT ban for certain Russian banks, the prohibition to participate in projects co-financed by the Russian Direct Investment Fund, and to export euro denominated banknotes to Russia.

European Council President Charles Michel travelled to Poland for a meeting with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and a visit to the Polish-Ukrainian border in Korczowa.

The Council added 26 persons and one entity to the list of persons, entities and bodies subject to restrictive measures in respect of actions undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.

The Council agreed on a further package of individual and economic measures, covering also Belarus, to respond to the unprovoked and unjustified military aggression carried out by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
