On 24 February 2022 G7 leaders issued in which they commit to protect and strengthen democratic systems and to step up our cooperation on global priorities such as climate, environment, and health.

During the press conference, European Council President Charles Michel once again stressed that the European Union will stand rock solid, united, firm and determined to hold Russia accountable, to support Ukraine and to protect peace in Europe.

The Council has extended until 30 June 2022 the emergency measures put in place to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the rail sector.

The Council today adopted the revised EU list of non-cooperative jurisdictions for tax purposes.

The Council agreed on a package of measures to respond to the decision by the Russian Federation to proceed with the recognition of the non-government controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts of Ukraine as independent entities, and the ensuing decision to send Russian troops into these areas.
