Remarks by Paschal Donohoe following the Eurogroup meeting of 16 June 2022 on euro area enlargement (Croatia), Greece, Banking Union and the upcoming June Euro Summit.

The Eurogroup, in inclusive format, issued a statement on the future of the Banking Union today.

The Eurogroup issued a statement to welcome Greece’s exit from enhanced surveillance framework on 20 August 2022.

Today, the Eurogroup agreed that Croatia should be able to benefit from using our common currency, the euro, from 2023 onwards.

The Council is recommending that member states consider establishing individual learning accounts to enable individuals to participate in labour-market relevant training.

During his visit to North Macedonia, President Michel discussed EU integration and open bilateral issues with Bulgaria, underlining the EU's commitment to North Macedonia’s EU accession path.

The Council has adopted a recommendation about a European approach to micro-credentials.

The Council adopted a recommendation inviting member states to support policies and programmes about learning for the green transition and sustainable development.

Remarks by President Charles Michel after his meeting in Pristina with President Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu

During his visit to Montenegro, President Michel addressed the impact of Russia’s war against Ukraine, including the rising price of energy, food and raw materials, stressing that the EU would continue supporting Montenegro with these challenges. On EU-Montenegro relations, he said it was time to speed up the country’s integration with the EU.
