During the next meeting on 2 June, Members of the Foreign Affairs Committee will vote on a draft resolution on the EU and the defence of multilateralism. They will also hold exchange of views on the Global Gateway Strategy, aiming to boost smart, clean and secure links in digital, energy and transport across the world and has the potential to become an important foreign policy tool.

On 14 June, the Committee on Foreign Affairs will hold a hearing from 14.30 -15.45 on the EU foreign policy towards Antarctica. The continent is recently attracting increasing attention because of its position and its rich natural resources. The hearing will examine the ongoing situation in Antarctica, the future challenges faced by the continent and discuss how the Parliament could contribute to the future EU policy in this area.

In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the President of the European Parliament has established a number of measures to contain the spread of the virus and to safeguard Parliament's core activities. The current precautionary measures do not affect work on legislative priorities.
Core activities are maintained to ensure the smooth running of the institution's legislative, budgetary, and scrutiny functions.
