"In the context of the exponential growth of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the President of the European Parliament has announced a number of measures to contain the spread of epidemic and to safeguard Parliament's core activities.
On 2 April, the Conference of Presidents updated the EP's calendar of activities to introduce an extraordinary plenary session on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 April in Brussels, and additional dates for remote meetings for EP governing bodies, committees and political groups.
The current precautionary measures adopted by the European Parliament to contain the spread of COVID-19 do not affect work on legislative priorities. Core activities are reduced, but maintained to ensure that the institution's legislative, budgetary, scrutiny functions are maintained.
Following these decisions, the AFET Committee meetings initially foreseen on 15-16 April and 29-30 April are cancelled.

• An extraordinary plenary session will be held in Brussels on 26 March, replacing the session originally planned for 1 and 2 April.
• Weeks 15-18 are now "white weeks" without parliamentary activities.
Following these decisions, the AFET Committee meetings initially foreseen on 15-16 April and 29-30 April are cancelled.

Today, 10 March, the Conference of Presidents adopted a revised calendar of meetings and the changes concern the following:
· Next week (week 12) is a "white week" without activities (instead of a committee week),
· Committee meetings will resume on weeks 13 and 14 together with Political Groups and Plenary,
· The April I plenary session will be held in Brussels from 1-2 April (instead of Strasbourg, 30 March - 2 April),
· Week 15 is now a "white week" without activities (instead of a "turquoise" week).
Following that decision the AFET Committee meeting of 16 and 17 March is cancelled.
