EU economic and financial affairs ministers (Ecofin) meeting today in Brussels reached political agreement on the exchange of tax information. The agreement was announced by Dutch finance minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem at a press conference following the meeting.  

On Monday 7 March, Prime Minister Mark Rutte attended the EU summit with Turkey to discuss the migration crisis.

Le 10 mars sera publiée la liste actualisée des plus importants dispositifs de recherche intéressant l'ensemble de l'Europe. Cette feuille de route 2016 sera lancée lors d'une conférence organisée à Amsterdam dans le cadre de la présidence néerlandaise.

On 10 March a new overview will be presented of all large research facilities with projects of pan-European importance. This 2016 Roadmap will be launched at a conference in Amsterdam, which is being held in the context of the Netherlands EU Presidency.

Le commissaire européen Karmenu Vella a présenté le plan d’action de l’Union européenne contre le trafic d’espèces sauvages lors de la conférence Save Wildlife qui s’est déroulée le 3 mars à La Haye. Il a souligné l’importance de s’engager ensemble dans la lutte contre les braconniers et le trafic d’animaux.

On 3 March, SEDE will exchange views with Major General Martin Smith MBE, Operation Commander of EU NAVFOR Somalia. General Smith commands the operation from the Operational Headquarters at Northwood, UK. He plans and conducts the operation in conjunction with the political and military authorities of the EU.

At its meeting on 3 March, SEDE will have an exchange of views with Brigadier General Dominique Laugel, Mission Commander of EUMAM RCA on preparing the armed forces of the Central African Republic for the security challenges of tomorrow. The discussion will focus on the results achieved by EUMAM RCA under its current mandate and its future direction in the light of the still challenging security situation in the Central African Republic.
