On Tuesday 19 June 2018, the Committees on Budget (BUDG), Budgetary Control (CONT), Foreign Affairs (AFET) and Development (DEVE) are jointly organising a public hearing entitled ‘Assessing the flow of external EU migration funding’.
Following a similar event last month on EU-internal migration funding under Heading 3, the objective of the hearing is to track and assess the flow of current expenditure on the migration-related programmes and agencies under Heading 4 'Global Europe' of the EU budget throughout the budgetary cycle, from allocation to implementation, control and evaluation of effectiveness. The hearing will also cover the implementation of the external trust funds involved in EU migration funding, with the objective of evaluating to what extent they bring added value to the EU budget.
Speakers include Mr Pierre Vimont (EEAS - keynote speaker/tbc), Mr Hassoumi Massoudou (Minister of Finance of Niger), as well as representatives of the EEAS, think tanks and NGOs.
