Az első EU–Közép-Ázsia csúcstalálkozónak az üzbegisztáni Szamarkand fog otthont adni április 3–4-én. António Costa, az Európai Tanács elnöke és Ursula von der Leyen, az Európai Bizottság elnöke megbeszélést folytat majd az öt közép-ázsiai ország vezetőivel arról, hogy miként lehetne intenzívebbé tenni a kétoldalú kapcsolatokat, és fokozni a két régió közötti együttműködést. Foglalkozni fognak továbbá a régiót érintő jelenlegi geopolitikai kihívásokkal, nevezetesen Oroszország Ukrajna elleni agressziós háborújával és az Afganisztánban zajló fejleményekkel.

António Costa, az Európai Tanács elnöke és Ursula von der Leyen, a Bizottság elnöke Dél-Afrikába utazik majd a 2025. március 13-án tartandó 8. EU–Dél-Afrika csúcstalálkozóra. A csúcstalálkozó célja az EU és Dél-Afrika közötti stratégiai partnerség megerősítése, valamint a kulcsfontosságú globális és regionális kérdések, köztük a geopolitikai kihívások, valamint a kereskedelem, a biztonság, az energia és az innováció terén folytatott kétoldalú együttműködés megvitatása.

They emphasized cooperation in tackling current global challenges, reiterating their full support for Ukraine, and promoting a rules-based international order.

European Council President António Costa spoke at the annual conference of the EU ambassadors from the EU delegations and offices around the world, the heads of EU military and civilian missions and the heads of the European Commission representations in all 27 EU member states.

During a press conference, President António Costa presented the main results of the first-ever meeting of European leaders dedicated to defence.

European Council President António Costa will chair the Informal EU leaders' retreat in Palais d’Egmont, Brussels. Upon arrival he emphasized the need for an open discussion among EU leaders on European defense, stressing that Europe must take greater responsibility for its own security and that member states share a common interest in increased cooperation at the EU level.
