Le PAG pour le Ministère des Transports compte huit (08) projets phares et treize (13) projets prioritaires.
"S'agissant des projets phares, nous avons la construction du nouvel aéroport de Glo-Djigbé, la modernisation et l'extension du port de Cotonou, la reconstruction des voies autour du port de Cotonou, la construction de l'autoroute Sèmè-Porto Novo, la construction d'un programme de seize (16) axes routiers répartis sur tout le territoire national", a expliqué Hervé Hêhomey.
Le projet de construction de l'aéroport de Glo-Djigbé démarre dans le premier semestre de l'année 2017. Il sera réalisé sur un site de 3028 hectares. Le projet sera bénéfique aux communes d'Abomey-Calavi, Tori et Zè.
Il est prévu, dans le cadre du projet, une voie express de 40 kilomètres qui va desservir le centre-ville en un quart d'heure par la route des pêches.
Le contournement Nord de Sèmè sera constitué aussi d'une voie de 40 kilomètres. Elle va quitter le rond point de Sèmè et va longer la berge lagunaire de Semé, en passant par Avotrou et enjamber la lagune avant d'atterrir au carrefour Calavi-Kpota en passant par Djonou.
L'aéroport de Glo-Djigbé fait partie des des 45 projets phares du gouvernement du Nouveau Départ pour le quinquennat 2016-2031.
