President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Dr. Patrice Motsepe, has defended the independence of the organization rsquo;s disciplinary bodies amid the backlash over Senegal being stripped of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title.

Ce jeudi 19 mars 2026, Cotonou accueille un sommet militaire trilatéral de premier plan. Le chef d'état-major général des forces armées béninoises, Fructueux Gbaguidi, reçoit ses homologues de Côte d'Ivoire et de France. Au cœur des échanges : la lutte contre le terrorisme dans une sous-région de plus en plus sous pression. La menace est commune. La réponse se veut concertée. Les patrons des trois armées sont réunis dans la capitale économique du Bénin pour affiner ensemble une stratégie commune, en s'appuyant sur le savoir-faire et l'expertise de forces armées parmi les plus aguerries dans ce domaine. Les militaires échangeront entre eux, mais les discussions ne resteront pas cantonnées aux états-majors : des rencontres avec les responsables politiques sont également prévues.
