Germany will elect a new parliament in just under two weeks. The second TV debate between the three top candidates took place on Sunday. According to INSA surveys the SPD, which is polling at 26 percent, still has a clear lead against the CDU/CSU (20.5 percent) and the Greens (15 percent). Europe's press discusses what should come next for Germany and Europe.

In France, former health minister Agnès Buzyn, who resigned in mid-February 2020, is on trial for endangering human lives through her policies at the beginning of the Covid pandemic. Thousands of lawsuits have been filed against Buzyn and other members of the government. The French press, however, sees no point to the proceedings.
