The British House of Commons passed two amendments to the Brexit deal on Tuesday, rejecting a no-deal exit and demanding that May renegotiate the backstop required by the EU for keeping an open border in Ireland. The EU, however, has rejected the idea of renegotiations. Journalists for the most part take a sceptical view of the decisions in London.

Speed limit reductions are under discussion in many countries, also in connection with the question of whether they can facilitate compliance with EU climate protection agreements.
