The Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM) organised, jointly with the Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI) and the European Parliament’s delegations to Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia and Turkey, an exchange of views on the rights of women in the enlargement countries.
The discussions focused on "Violence against women in the Western Balkans and Turkey". The invited experts shared an overview about the current state of affairs with regards to the situation of women in the Western Balkan countries and in Turkey and the ongoing efforts to stop all forms of violence against women.
