Dans la nuit du lundi 14 au mardi 15 septembre 2026 un château d'eau agro-pastoral en construction s'est éffondré à Wakité, dans la commune de Ouaké.

Les secours, mobilisés durant la nuit et la matinée, ont extrait des décombres les trois corps sans vie ainsi que des blessés graves.

Ces derniers sont pris en charge au Centre hospitalier départemental (CHD) de la Donga et dans d'autres structures sanitaires.

L'ouvrage était réalisé dans le cadre du Projet de Cohésion sociale (CoSo), destiné notamment à améliorer l'accès des populations aux infrastructures hydrauliques.

Les causes de l'effondrement restent à déterminer.
