Council, Commission and Parliament set the EU's legislative priorities for 2021 and objectives for 2020-2024

The Council presidency today reached a political agreement with Parliament on the extension of the LIFE programme beyond 2020.

Following a review under the recommendation on the gradual lifting of the temporary restrictions on non-essential travel into the EU, the Council updated the list of countries for which travel restrictions should be lifted.

The Council reaches a general approach on improving access to justice in environmental matters.

The Council adopts conclusions on digitalisation for the benefit of the environment

The Council imposed restrictive measures against 27 additional individuals, including high-level Belarusian officials, responsible for the ongoing repression and intimidation, as well as against 2 individuals and 7 entities who benefit from their association with and support the Lukashenka regime.

Council adopts conclusions in response to the European Commission's Circular Economy Action Plan

The Council reaches agreement on a general approach on the European climate law.

The Council prolongs the targeted restrictive measures on exchanges in specific sectors of the Russian economy for another six months, until 31 July 2021.

The EU adopted a multiannual financial framework for 2021-2027.

EU reached an agreement on fishing opportunities in the Atlantic, North Sea, Mediterranean and Black Sea for 2021.

Next year will be the European Year of Rail, with a range of initiatives to promote this sustainable way to travel.

On Thursday, the EP President signed a common list of key legislative proposals for 2021, after the Council and Commission Presidents had done so earlier this week.
