Mario Joseph, a prominent Haitian lawyer, said that under Haitian law, an individual must be 18 years old to give sexual consent. A person found guilty of sex with a minor would be sentenced to roughly 10-15 years of forced labour.

Dans le cadre des Accord de Londres (Accords de Lancaster House) l'exercice FLANDRES s'est déroulée avec la participation des troupes françaises et britanniques les 22-29 juin 2011. Les accords franco-britanniques du 2 novembre 2010 ont fixé l'objectif de création d'une force interarmées franco-britannique projetable + son QG jusqu'à 2016. Le programme SAFIR (support anglo-french interoperability and readiness) rend interopérables les simulateurs d'entraînement tactiques des 2 armées.
