Representatives of NGOs as well as other organisations are requested to accede to the EU Transparency Register and follow the procedures therein for access to the European Parliament.
Joint statement by FEMM and DROI Chairs:
Pier Antonio Panzeri, Chair of the Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI), and Vilija Blinkevičiūtė, Chair of the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM), stated:
''On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (Sunday 25 November), we put the spotlight on sexual harassment, which forms an integral part of gender-based violence and on which we need to cooperate in order to achieve gender equality and full enjoyment of human rights for all women...."Relieved about the pardoning of Matthew Hedges after his sentence to life imprisonment, Mr Pier Antonio Panzeri made the following statement:
"I welcome the news that the government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has pardoned British academic Matthew Hedges and hundreds of other prisoners. I also wish Matthew and his family some much needed rest in order to recover quickly from this ordeal...."
