— U.S. Marines (@USMC) June 18, 2026 Congratulations to Maj Capers, Col Ripley and Maj Dockery (his actions are definitely worthy). Col Ripley has been an icon in the Marine Corps forver, Maj Capers achievement is also been lifted as an example to junior Marines (although from what I've read he was always considered a lion in the Recon/Force Recon community). They're more famous than Maj Dockery but if he research is action on his own "bad day" then you'll be equally in awe of hs actions. America has always had heroes and these men remind us all of how we should conduct ourselves when sugar turns to shit.

Happening Now: President Donald J. Trump awards the Medal of Honor to Maj. Nicholas Dockery, U.S. Army, retired; Maj. James Capers Jr., U.S. Marine Corps, retired; and Col. John W. Ripley, U.S. Marine Corps, posthumously at the @WhiteHouse. https://t.co/R547saaZUc

Highlights - Exchange of views on the human rights situation in Tanzania - Subcommittee on Human Rights

On 22 June the Subcommittee on Human Rights, in association with the Delegation to the Africa-EU Parliamentary Assembly, will examine the human rights situation in Tanzania. The discussion will take place while Tanzanian authorities have repeatedly rejected requests for a DROI mission to the country and as the European Parliament just adopted a resolution to object the draft Commission implementing decision on the financing of the 2026 annual action plan for Tanzania.

The European Parliament had previously expressed concerns regarding developments in Tanzania in two resolutions addressing the post-election killings and the imprisonment of the political opponent Tundu Lissu, and in an earlier resolution objecting the 2025 Annual Action Plan proposed by the European Commission.

The discussion will feature a panel including human right defenders as well as representatives from the Commission and the EEAS.
