The Foreign Affairs (AFET) Committee invited Members of national parliaments to attend an interparliamentary committee meeting, which will focus on the current priorities in CFSP/CSDP and the way towards the NATO Summit in Warsaw. The meeting will include a general debate with VP/HR Mogherini, an exchange of views with Nabih Berri, Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, a discussion with NATO Secretary Genera and with UN Special Representative for Libya.

Das Nuklearabkommen mit Iran bildete das Ende einer langen Zeitspanne, die von Sanktionen geprägt war und eröffnete ein neues Kapitel in den Beziehungen zwischen Iran und der Europäischen Union. Am Dienstag (16.2.) diskutierte der Ausschuss für Auswärtige Angelegenheiten mit dem iranischen Außenminister Javad Zarif über die Zukunft der EU-Iran Beziehungen, die Lage in der Region und die Menschenrechte.

After the nuclear deal with Iran there is room to develop EU-Iran relations, but not at the expense of human rights, said Foreign Affairs Committee MEPs in Tuesday’s debate with Iran's Foreign Affairs Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. Ways to end violence in Syria and Yemen, and Iran's relations with Saudi Arabia were also among the topics discussed.
