On 8 November 2022, the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Committee on International Trade will hold a hearing on Foreign policy and trade aspects of the EU's strategic autonomy.
Susi Dennison, European Council on Foreign Relations, and
Hugo Meijer, Sciences Po, Center for International Studies, will explore how the EU can best develop its sovereignty to promote and defend its values and strengthen multilateralism globally in the context of geopolitical shifts (AFET panel).
Professor Hoekman, Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, and
Professor Clausen, University of Miami School of Law, will then examine different paradigms for working strategically with trade partners to improve EU's resilience and for ensuring that its economic and greater political goals are achieved and safeguarded from unfair trade practices ("open" strategic autonomy - INTA panel).
