The EU brings crypto-assets and crypto-assets service providers under a regulatory framework for the first time. The Council presidency and the European Parliament reached a provisional agreement on the markets in crypto-assets (MiCA) proposal.

The Council requested the European Parliament’s consent on a decision to add the violation of sanctions to the list of ‘EU crimes’ included in the Treaty on the Functioning of the EU.

On the 20th anniversary of the entry into force of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, the EU issued a declaration reconfirming its unwavering support for the Court, as an independent and impartial judicial institution.

The Council adopted a regulation allowing for temporary trade liberalisation and other trade concessions with regard to certain Ukrainian products.
