The President of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani will open the conference in the presence of Vice President/High Representative Federica Mogherini, United Nation High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet, General Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court Fatou Bensouda, and several other dignitaries.

Eight Members of the Subcommittee on Human Rights visited Canada from 29 October to 2 November.
The Chair of the Subcommittee, Pier Antonio Panzeri, stated: "Our delegation visited Canada to have an exchange on human rights challenges and to learn more about the human rights situation of indigenous peoples (IP), notably in the light of Prime Minister Trudeau's commitment to reset the government's relationship with Canada's indigenous peoples (First Nations, Inuit and Metis).
The next meeting of the Subcommittee on Human Rights will take place on Monday 19 November from 15.00 - 18.30, Tuesday 20 November from 9.00 - 12.30 in meeting room JAN 6Q2, and on Tuesday 20 November from 14.30 in the hemicycle PHS.
Representatives of NGOs as well as other organisations are requested to accede to the EU Transparency Register and follow the procedures therein for access to the European Parliament.
