On 19 June 2015, the Council extended the EU restrictive measures in response to the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol until 23 June 2016. The sanctions include prohibitions on:

• imports of products originating in Crimea or Sevastopol into the EU;
• investment in Crimea or Sevastopol, meaning that no Europeans nor EU-based companies can buy real estate or entities in Crimea, finance Crimean companies or supply related services; 
•  tourism services in Crimea or Sevastopol, in particular, European cruise ships cannot call at ports in the Crimean peninsula, except in case of emergency;  
• exports of certain goods and technologies to Crimean companies or for use in Crimea in the transport, telecommunications and energy sectors and related to the prospection, exploration and production of oil, gas and mineral resources. Technical assistance, brokering, construction or engineering services related to infrastructure in these sectors must not be provided either.

 As stated by the European Council on 19 March 2015, the EU continues to condemn the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol by the Russian Federation and remain committed to fully implement its non-recognition policy. 

Biztonsági szempontból egyre nagyobb kihívásokat teremt a NATO környezete, mindenekelőtt a szövetségi déli határain túl fekvő államok, de Oroszország is – nyilatkozott Jens Stoltenberg, a NATO főtitkára csütörtökön a TVN24 lengyel hírtelevíziónak, bejelentve egyben, hogy megduplázzák a szövetségi gyorsreagálású erőket.

A norvég politikus a NATO gyorsreagálású egységének első, a Noble Jump fedőnevű manővereit figyeli szerda óta, melyek helyszíne a délnyugat-lengyelországi Zagan és Swietoszow gyakorlóterek.

Stoltenberg a TVN24-ben leszögezte: jelenleg a szövetség semmelyik államát nem fenyegeti közvetlen veszély, ugyanakkor egyre nő az Iszlám Állam és az észak-afrikai lázadások okozta fenyegetés.

Mint aláhúzta, egy másik kihívást „Oroszország kiélezedő politikája” jelenti. Oroszország a Krím törvénytelen elcsatolása és a kelet-ukrajnai helyzet destabilizálása révén felelősséget visel az ukrán válságért – jelentette ki a NATO-főtitkár.
„A szövetsége lényege, hogy minden tagállamot megvédjen a fenyegetésektől, ezért alkalmazkodnunk kell a változó biztonsági környezetünkhöz” – szögezte le Stoltenberg.

A NATO-főtitkár még szerdán a Zeganban megtartott sajtóértekezleten bejelentette: a szövetség több mint duplájára – 13 ezerről több mint 30 ezer főre – növeli gyorsreagálású erőit, emellett Lengyelországban egy „kisebb főparancsnokságot” állít fel. Az eddig ismert tervek szerint, a tavaly szeptemberi newporti NATO-csúcs megállapodásainak értelmében a gyorsbevetésű erők főparancsnokságát az észak-nyugat-lengyelországi Szczecin székhellyel működő közös német-dán-lengyel hadtestet alapjain építenék ki.

A lengyelországi gyakorlótereken csütörtökön bemutatót tartanak a Noble Jump keretében múlt keddtől péntekig gyakorlatozó katonák. A megfigyelők között van Stoltenbergen kívül Philip Breedlove, a NATO európai főparancsnoka, valamint a részt vevő országok védelmi miniszterei. A manővereken 2100 katona, cseh és holland légi mozgékonyságú egységek, német és norvég gépesítettlövész-alakulatok, lengyel harckocsizók, belga tüzérek és amerikai helikopterek, valamint egy, a katonai-polgári együttműködést szervező magyar csapat vesz részt.

A Noble Jump része a NATO Allied Shield (Szövetséges Pajzs) fedőnevű kelet-európai gyakorlatsorozatának.

Példaértékűnek nevezte Czunyiné Bertalan Judit, az Emberi Erőforrások Minisztériumának köznevelésért felelős államtitkára a csepeli általános iskolások kezdeményezését, hogy adományt gyűjtenek kárpátaljai társaiknak. A gyerekek 200 ezer forintot gyűjtöttek, a pénzt csütörtökön adták át jelképesen Borbély Lénárdnak (Fidesz-KDNP), a kerület polgármesterének.

A csepeli Mátyás Király Általános Iskolából Áldozd egy csoki árát a kárpátaljai magyar gyerekek megsegítésére címmel indult kezdeményezéshez több más kerületi általános iskola is csatlakozott. Az ünnepségen a diákok, akik több iskolából érkeztek, arról beszéltek, miért érezték szükségesnek, hogy hozzájáruljanak a gyűjtéshez, majd a gyerekek egy nagyméretű táblát adtak át a polgármesternek, amelyen az összegyűjtött összeg volt olvasható.

A köznevelési államtitkár szerint a gyerekek gyűjtése azt bizonyítja, hogy az iskolában nemcsak tanítás, hanem nevelő munka is folyik, és a gyerekek érzékenyen reagálnak a társadalmi problémákra.

Előrevetítette: a tárca is segíti a kárpátaljai gyerekeket, az Erzsébet-program keretében nyaraltatni fogják őket, ősszel pedig külön figyelmet fordítanak majd arra, hogy taneszközökkel és tankönyvekkel lássák el a kárpátaljai diákokat.

Az ünnepségen Borbély Lénárd azt hangsúlyozta: a budapesti önkormányzatok közül Csepel a legmagasabb összeggel, tízmillió forinttal támogatja a kárpátaljai települések megsegítésére vonatkozó kezdeményezést.

Az ukrajnai fegyveres konfliktus miatt Orbán Viktor miniszterelnök és a kormány korábban felhívást intézett a magyar önkormányzatokhoz, illetve külön a megyei jogú városokhoz, hogy – amennyiben lehetőségük engedi – támogassanak kárpátaljai magyar településeket, szolidaritást vállalva, és segítve az ott élő magyarokat.

Németh Szilárd fideszes országgyűlési képviselő minden magyar embernek szóló jó üzenetnek nevezte a csepeli diákok kezdeményezését. Szerinte a magyarság összetartozását szimbolizálja az, amit a gyerekek tettek.

Felidézte: a kormány a kárpátaljai magyar közösségek 650 millió forintos támogatásáról döntött.

Szász Jenő elmondta, hogy az általa vezetett Nemzetstratégiai Kutatóintézet segítségével a csepeli adományok a kárpátaljai Beregsomra, Csonkapapira és Beregszász 6-os számú általános iskolájához kerülnek. Beregsomról és Csonkapapiról azt mondta: a települések mintegy ezer lakosának 95 százaléka magyar nemzetiségű. A beregszászi általános iskoláról szólva – ahova a csepeli diákok adománya is kerül – megemlítette: az intézményben 40 éve nem voltak fejlesztések, az iskolának 5,5 millió forintos fejlesztési terve van. Bejelentette: a Nemzetstratégiai Kutatóintézet ehhez 2 millió forinttal járul hozzá.

June 18, 2015 (KHARTOUM) - Sudanese foreign ministry Thursday summoned the British ambassador to Khartoum, Peter Topper, to express its concern over a draft resolution submitted to the UN Security Council by the United Kingdom about the renewal of the African Union - United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID).

"During the meeting, the undersecretary at the foreign ministry Abdel Gani al-Naeim described the draft resolution as unjust and "inconsistent with the positive developments in Darfur, said the foreign ministry spokesperson Ali al Sadiq on Thursday .

Al-Sadiq further said the draft resolution ignored the work conducted by the tripartite committee of the Sudanese government, African Union and the United Nations on a exit strategy of the hybrid peacekeeping mission from Darfur.

In his written statement, the Sudanese diplomat said the draft resolution was based on a recent progress report by secretary-general where he says that attacks by government militias displaced nearly 80,000 civilians in Darfur.

The Sudanese government strongly condemned the "misleading" report and accused the international organization attributing recent displacement of civilians which is triggered by tribal fighting to the government militiamen.

The Sudanese ambassador to the United Nations Hassan Hamid Hassan said the report " inverted the facts and misled the members of the UN Security Council". He further said that "some of the information provided therein is not accurate at all. "

Sudanese government officials say the regular army and its militias cleared the region from rebel groups, adding that the "Decisive Summer" military campaign restored security particularly after the defeat of the fighters of Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) in South Darfur state last April.

According to the spokesperson, al-Naeim also regretted that the draft resolution authored by United Kingdom linked between Darfur and the situation in South Kordofan and Blue Nile states where the Sudanese army fights the rebel Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North.

He further stressed on the need to respect the work of the tripartite mechanism saying it demonstrated its ability to solve all the problems related to exit strategy from Darfur.

The UN Security Council is expected to adopt a resolution extending the UNAMID mandate for another year on 24 June 2015.

June 18, 2015 (KHARTOUM) – The son of the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) chief Mohammed Osman al-Mirghani was sworn in as senior presidential assistant, almost two weeks after missing the oath ceremony for cabinet members before president Omer Hassan al-Bashir.

Al-Hassan has attributed his absence to pressing family obligations in the city of Sinkat in eastern Sudan.

Mohmed al-Hassan was sworn in with the presence of Chief Justice Haidar Dafalla and the Minister of the Presidency Salahuddin Wansi.

In dismissing that he was unhappy about the posts offered to the DUP, al-Hassan said that he had received news of his appointment from Bashir personally.

In a press statements after the oath, al-Hassan underscored his party's support for the national dialogue to achieve political stability.

The April general elections brought the DUP in second place to the ruling party with 25 seats in parliament.

They were awarded three federal ministries and 2 ministers of state along with the post of senior assistant to the president.
