Plenáris ülés : Szerda délután 4-től vitatják meg az EP-képviselők a Bizottság döntését, amely szerint Írország éveken át tiltott adókedvezményeket biztosított az Apple-nek és emiatt a cég másokhoz képest jóval kevesebb adót fizetett.

Plenary sessions : Parliament rejected Malta’s nominee for the European Court of Auditors, Mr Leo Brincat, in a plenary vote on Tuesday. Mr Brincat had been approved by the Budgetary Control Committee in a close vote on 5 September. But Parliament did back Portugal’s nominee, Mr João Figueiredo, and the renewal of the mandate of Cypriot member, Mr Lazaros S. Lazarou, based on the committee’s recommendations. The final decision on the appointments to the Luxembourg body will be taken by the EU Council of Ministers.

Plenary sessions : Parliament’s car emissions inquiry urgently needs more information from the EU Commission, it says in a resolution voted on Tuesday. Half-way through its mandate, the Committee of Inquiry into Emission Measurements in the Automotive Sector (EMIS), has yet to receive some Commission documents on emission measurements and details of expert group work on vehicle type approval procedures, notes the text. The inquiry’s final report is due in spring 2017.

Civil Liberties Committee MEPs will quiz UK candidate Commissioner for the Security Union Sir Julian King in Strasbourg on Monday evening to assess his candidature. Based on the committee’s recommendation, Parliament’s Conference of Presidents (EP President and political group leaders) will then decide whether to close the hearing procedure after which the full House can take a vote on Thursday.

The European Parliament should give its consent to the ratification of the 2015 Paris agreement on climate change, recommended Environment Committee MEPs on Thursday. They also urged all EU member states to conclude the ratification process, to ensure its rapid entry into force. In a separate resolution, they also called on the EU to upgrade its emission reduction pledges, so as to close the gap between the individual targets agreed by the Parties and the Paris goals.

Általános : Hogyan kezelnék a fiatalok a korosztályukat érintő főbb problémákat, mint a munkanélküliség, a háború, vagy a fenntarthatóság az EU-ban? Az EP májusi ifjúsági rendezvényén (EYE 2016) Strasbourgban több ezer fiatal gyűlt össze, hogy megvitassák az EU előtt álló kihívásokat. Általános : A tagállamoknak el kell foganiuk, hogy az uniós szabályok szerint illegális, ha adókedvezményekkel próbálják az országba csalogatni a cégeket. Ezeket a szabályokat pedig maguk a tagállamok állították fel - mondta Markus Feber (néppárti, német), a tagállami adómegállapításokat vizsgáló bizottság tagja, miután az Európai Bizottság megbüntette az írországi Apple-t. A conference with national parliaments on the Future Financing of the European Union will take place in the European Parliament premises in Brussels on 7-8 September 2016. The Conference will be an important milestone in the work of the High Level Group on Own Resources, providing the forum for an in-depth discussion with national parliaments on how the EU should be financed in the future.

Általános : Folytatódik a dízelbotrány vizsgálata az EP-ben, hétfőn az autók károsanyag-kibocsátási tesztjeiről kérdezi Janez Potočnik és Antonio Tajani volt uniós biztosokat az EP vizsgálóbizottsága. Általános : Puccskísérlet, terrortámadások, háború a határ túloldalán és mintegy 3 millió menekült – Törökország maga, de az EU-hoz fűződő kapcsolata is komoly nehézségekkel küzd. Míg az ország a vízumkövetelmények enyhítését várná a török állampolgárokkal szemben és a migrációs megállapodás felbontásával fenyegeti az Uniót, addig az EU-s tagállamok ragaszkodnak hozzá, hogy teljesítse a vízummentesség követelményeit és aggódnak a halálbüntetés esetleges bevezetéséért Törökországban.

Parliament will evaluate Commissioner-designate Sir Julian King for the portfolio of the Security Union during its plenary session in Strasbourg. The Civil Liberties Committee will first hold a public hearing with the candidate on Monday 12 September in the evening. The full House will take a vote on Thursday.
