Az EU nyilatkozatot adott ki a május 8-án tartott hongkongi kormányzóválasztásról, amelyben sajnálatát fejezte ki amiatt, hogy a kiválasztási folyamat sértette a demokratikus elveket és a politikai pluralizmust, valamint felszólította a kínai és a hongkongi hatóságokat, hogy a kormányzót és a Törvényhozó Tanács tagjait általános választójog alapján válasszák meg.

Az EU melletti állandó képviselők megbízást fogadtak el azokra az új szabályokra vonatkozóan, amelyek lehetővé teszik majd az Eurojust számára, hogy alapvető nemzetközi bűncselekményekre, például háborús bűncselekményekre vonatkozó bizonyítékokat őrizzen meg, elemezzen és tároljon.

A május 18–19-i plenáris ülésen az EP-képviselők várhatóan támogatják a 2023-tól érvényes globális, minimális társasági adókulcs új szabályait.
