António Costa elnök beszámolót tartott az Európai Parlamentnek az Európai Tanács decemberi üléséről. Beszámolójában ismertette az uniós vezetők által megvitatott főbb témákat, ideértve Ukrajnát, a bővítést, valamint az EU által a világban betöltött szerepet is.

During his speech at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, President Costa highlighted that the outermost regions have a strategic importance for the EU and that he will work to ensure that all nine outermost regions are fully recognised in the EU's cohesion policy, competitiveness compass, financial solutions, and sustainable development.

A Tanács ajánlásokat fogadott el, amelyek alapján az alábbi hét országnak meghatározott időn belül meg kellene szüntetnie a fennálló túlzott hiányt: Belgium, Franciaország, Olaszország, Málta, Lengyelország, Szlovákia és Románia.

A Tanács a mai napon ajánlásokat fogadott el, amelyekben első alkalommal hagyott jóvá középtávú költségvetési-strukturális terveket, továbbá 21 tagállam számára meghatározta a nettó kiadási pályát.

A Tanács jóváhagyta a Görögország, Ciprus és Spanyolország által benyújtott módosított helyreállítási és rezilienciaépítési tervek Bizottság általi kedvező értékelését.

A Tanács elfogadta az Európai Békekeret keretében megvalósuló harmadik, 60 millió EUR összegű támogatási intézkedést, amellyel az EU a libanoni fegyveres erőket fogja segíteni.

A Tanács a mai napon Preben Aamannt nevezte ki a Kommunikációs és Információs Főigazgatóság (COMM) új főigazgatójává.

Az EU Tanácsa elfogadta az európai egészségügyi adattérről szóló rendeletet, amely meg fogja könnyíteni az egészségügyi adatok uniós szintű cseréjét és az azokhoz való hozzáférést.
