European Council

The Council listed nine persons and one entity responsible for human rights violations and abuses and for sustaining armed conflict, instability and insecurity in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Council prolonged the EU restrictive measures in view of the Russian Federation's continuing actions destabilising the situation in Ukraine until 31 January 2025.

The Council adopted an assistance measure worth €15 million under the European Peace Facility, that will benefit the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

The Council adopted an assistance measure under the European Peace Facility worth €10 million to the benefit of the Armenian Armed Forces.

The Council adopted a regulation to exempt holders of Serbian passports issued by the Serbian Coordination Directorate from the visa requirement when travelling to the EU.

The Council has adopted a regulation for digital labelling of fertilising products.

The Council has adopted a set of updated fisheries measures in the North-East Atlantic Fisheries Commission (NEAFC) area.

Statement by the High Representative on behalf of the European Union on the alignment of certain third countries with Council Decision (CFSP) 2024/1843 of 28 June 2024 amending Decision 2014/145/CFSP concerning restrictive measures in respect of actions undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.

The EU issued a statement on the occasion of the anniversary of the adoption in 1998 of the Rome Statute, the founding treaty of the International Criminal Court, reaffirming its unwavering support for the ICC, calling on all states to cooperate with it, and supporting reform processes aimed at improving the effectiveness of the Court.

The EU issued a statement on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 honouring the memory of those who lost their lives, and reiterating the EU’s call on the Russian Federation to accept its responsibility in this tragedy and to cooperate fully in serving justice.
