The EU has decided to conduct a bridging military operation in Eastern Chad and North Eastern Central African Republic (EUFOR TCHAD/RCA) in the framework of the European Security and Defence Policy (ESDP).
In deciding to conduct this operations the EU is stepping up its longstanding action in support of efforts to tackle the crisis in Darfur as part of a regional approach to that crisis.

La Hongrie a organisé la première formation consacrée à l’égalité entre les hommes et les femmes et à la PESD, à Budapest les 18 et 20 avril 2007. Le cours pilote avait pour but de faire connaître aux participants les questions relatives à l’égalité entre les hommes et les femmes et leur pertinence en matière de PESD.

CIMIC et/ou CMCO?
A l'Union européenne pour décrire la coopération civilo-militaire on préfére le sigle "CMCO" (Civil-Military Co-ordination) de "CIMIC" (Civil-Military Co-operation).
La CIMIC, une notion au niveau des États-membres suggere la prédominance des éléments militaires dans la coopération ce qui n'est pas le cas a la gestion de crise de l'UE.
