The UK has fallen. Should they still consider themselves as having a "special" relationship?

Snafu-solomon.blogspot - Sun, 11/10/2026 - 18:20

The Pentagon has pulled all B-1B bombers from RAF Fairford after suspicious activity and fresh Iran-related security concerns, sending at least a dozen aircraft back to the U.S. https://t.co/qzWXtMx89m

— Military Mechanics (@MilitaryMechs) October 11, 2026 Can you imagine this happening 20 years ago? How about 10? The UK has fallen. I won't go into why I think that is but you should be able to EASILY figure that out. But it goes deeper. Should we still involve them in intel sharing? Are they still reliable? Should we be looking at other locations for operations in the Middle East? My answer is that we MUST find alternatives and quickly. I'm thinking that there have to be other countries that can provide the same access with much greater security across the board...intel, force protection etc.. The days of UK being our rock and our special friend is over!
