Declaration by the High Representative on behalf of the European Union on the alignment of certain third countries with Council Decision (CFSP) 2018/1086 of 30 July 2018 implementing Decision (CFSP) 2015/1333 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Libya

The Council has transposed UN Security Council resolution 2428 (2018) which imposes an arms embargo and adds two persons to the list of persons and entities subject to restrictive measures.

The Council extended the mandate of EUNAVFOR Somalia Operation Atalanta until 31 December 2020. It relocated the OHQ to Rota (Spain) and the MSCHOA to Brest France, and appointed Vice Admiral Antonio Martorell Lacave as new Operation Commander as of 29 March 2019.

The meeting of the European Council will take place on 18 October 2018 in the Europa building in Brussels. The press centre is located in the Justus Lipsius building.

The representatives of the governments of the member states appointed a judge to the Court of Justice of the European Union.
