The second Joint Defence Cooperation meeting between India and Ethiopia was held today, September 28, 2026, in Addis Ababa. The two countries discussed areas of mutual interest in the fields of military training, military exercise, medical cooperation, peacekeeping and defence industries. Both sides agreed to expand and deepen defence cooperation activities through exchange of personnel from training institutes, exploring avenues for joint ventures in defence production, delegation visits and experience sharing interactions.

A 60-member Indian Armed Forces contingent departed today for Oskemen, Kazakhstan, to participate in the ninth edition of the India-Kazakhstan Joint Military Exercise KAZIND, scheduled to be conducted from 28 September to 11 October 2026. The Indian contingent is drawn mainly from a battalion of the GARHWAL RIFLES, along with troops from other arms and services, and personnel from the Indian Air Force. The Kazakhstan Armed Forces will field a contingent of matching strength, comprising primarily personnel from its Land Forces.
