The EU Council and the European Parliament have reached a provisional agreement on new rules aimed at modernising the coordination of social security systems in the EU.

The Council today appointed Kirsten Joppe as new head of mission for the European Union Partnership Mission in Moldova (EUPM Moldova).

The High Representative issued a statement on behalf of the European Union marking three years of war in Sudan.

The Council agreed today to establish a civilian EU Partnership Mission in Armenia under the Common Security and Defence Policy. The mission aims to enhance Armenia’s resilience, notably in countering foreign information manipulation and interference, as well as in cybersecurity, and information integrity.

The Council approved conclusions on 'EU energy and climate diplomacy – strengthening sovereignty and advancing the global clean transition'.

The Council adopted additional restrictive measures against two entities responsible propaganda and disinformation.

The Political and Security Committee of the Council of the EU has approved EPF support for the military component of the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) worth EUR 75 million.

The Council formally adopts new rules on new genomic techniques (NGTs), supporting innovation, resilient crops and sustainable food systems, with strong safety measures in place.

New EU-wide rules set up a harmonised criminal law framework to prevent and fight corruption.

The Council extended the framework for restrictive measures against those responsible for actions aimed at destabilising, undermining or threatening the sovereignty and independence of the Republic of Moldova for another year, until 29 April 2027.

Council adopts new rules to improve the quality, availability and traceability of forest reproductive material (FRM) supporting EU seeds sector innovation and competitiveness.
